Whales Tail, Costa Ballena View to the SouthRainforest Coffee, founded in 2005, is located in Playa Uvita, just behind the whales tail in the center of Costa Ballena of Southern Costa Rica. Founded by two internet communications technology specialists, and partnered with Skylynx Communications of Costa Rica, the Rainforest Cafe offers its customers access to it's 2megabit microwave based channel. Our connection connects to Costa Rica's internet backbone system via a 10megabit fiberoptic feed.

As one of the oldest foriegn owned businesses in the region, the Rainforest Cafe is located in the first commercial plaza built in Playa Uvita, on the second floor Centro Commercial Don Israel. With six other commercial centers currently under construction in the area, the Rainforest Cafe has grown with the community, and will soon be offering Wimax service to the Uvita area, making broadband avialable in an area that likely will not have DSL until 2009.

The Rainforest Cafe was originally created as an internet cafe only to fill the gap in communications needs for the ever increasing tourist and investor population in the community. With the exponential growth in the area, and Costa Rica as a whole, the Cafe has evolved into an urban oasis in the midst of the jungle, serving as a meeting spot for tourists and locals alike.Uvita from Space
